Florie Mae C. Laniohan captured the gold medal in shot-put during the Paragames of Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur on May 25, 2026.

Laniohan also competed in long jump and the 100-meter sprint , showing her versatility across different track and field events. Her preparation for the competition was intense, as she continued training even after her classes. 

“Practice kay practice, kai inig human sa klase practice gihapon,” Laniohan said, describing her demanding training routine.

Despite the pressure of competing, Laniohan found motivation from her family and enjoyed bonding with her teammates.

She said winning the gold medal was especially meaningful because it was also a dream shared with others around her. Laniohan credited her achievement to perseverance and encouraged fellow athletes to keep moving forward and not give up easily.

“Just keep moving and don’t give up easily. Moving forward is the best decision.”

Laniohan’s gold medal finish showed how consistent training, family support, and determination can turn a dream into an achievement. With her experience in the Paragames, she hopes to keep moving forward and inspire other athletes to never give up.
