Carlos Edriel Yulo captured the Philippines’ first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games after topping the men’s artistic floor exercise final on September 24, 2026 at the Nagoya City General Gymnasium at Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
Yulo posted 14.666 points, including an 8.966 execution score and 5.7 difficulty score, to finish ahead at Kazakhstan’s Milad Karimi, who earned silver with 14.600 and Japan’s Shoma Tsukiyama, who took bronze with 14.566
Adding an Asian Games title to his record, Yulo now holds major achievements from the Olympics, World Championships, Asian Championships, and Southeast Asian Games. He won 2 Olympic gold medals in the floor exercise and vault at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Yulo competed as part of the Philippines men’s artistic gymnastics team, with his coaches and teammates supporting his preparation for the competition.
After the competition, Yulo expressed gratitude to God, his team, coaches, and supporters for helping him achieve the gold.
Yulo’s latest victory adds another milestone to Philippine gymnastics as he continues to achieve success on the international stage.
