Before Parenthood, Let Them Grow

Teenagers should be building dreams, not being forced to carry responsibilities meant for adulthood. Teenage pregnancy can change a young person’s education, health, relationships, and future opportunities. It should not be treated simply as a moral failure, but an issue that requires education, guidance, support, and responsible decision-making.

Teenage Pregnancy can create challenges for young parents, including interrupted schooling, financial difficulties, and health risk associated with pregnancy at a young age. In the Philippines, the government has identified adolescent pregnancy as a national concern, leading to programs focused on programming sexuality education, access to health services, and support for adolescent parents.

Preventing teenage pregnancy requires young people to receive accurate, age-appropriate information and adults to provide guidance without shame or judgement.

Preventing teenage pregnancy is not about blaming teenagers; it is about giving them the knowledge, protection, and support they need to make informed choices.  Families, schools, communities, and the government must work together to keep adolescents educated and supported. Let teenagers finish their education, discover their potential, and build their future before taking on responsibilities of parenthood.
